The Grivel K7G Lambda Twin Gate carabiner is a revolutionary belay and rappelling carabiner designed for use with single or double rope systems in climbing and mountaineering. Engineered for maximum safety, efficiency, and ease of use, it introduces one of the most advanced closure systems available in modern climbing hardware.

Featuring a distinctive pear-shaped (Lambda) geometry, the K7G provides a wide internal opening that is ideal for belay devices, half-hitches, Munter hitches, and other knot-based rope systems. This shape ensures smooth rope flow and excellent control during belaying and rappelling operations.

Constructed from hot-forged 7000-series aluminium alloy, the same high-strength material used in premium ice axe handles, the K7G delivers an exceptional balance of strength, durability, and lightweight performance, making it suitable for demanding alpine and sport climbing environments.

The patented Twin Gate system, developed in France and awarded the prestigious Compasso d’Oro for industrial design in safety equipment, uses two opposing levers (one curved key-lock gate and one straight gate) that must be operated simultaneously. This design significantly increases safety by preventing accidental opening unless two deliberate, opposing actions are applied.
