Titanal reinforced freeride powder skis that take big mountain skiing to the next level. It's the middle of February. Temps clock in at a frosty 15F. You've magically found yourself in interior British Columbia. It snowed 20 inches of dreamy, stable, Kootenay Cold Smoke and the clouds are parting. It's the day that dreams are made of – and the days the Vanguard Ti is made for. With a beefy design, carefully tuned profile thanks to our latest 4x4 Design Concept (4Radii sidecut and rockers) – this 118-waisted playful backcountry-freeride powder ski offers the stable platform you need to power through drops and blast through chop. With a balanced, progressive stance and raised tail, you can tackle those booters and scoops like never before. Although we built it with versatility in mind the Vanguard Ti is an ideal ski for heli and cat skiing adventures, big freeride lines and surfing powder.

Deep Dive:

Big mountain performance designed for diverse backcountry terrain and variable snow. The Vanguard ski was developed for skiers who love playful skiing in the backcountry. This is a big and stable platform for advanced level skiing and deep snow fun - think Revelstoke, Jackson Hole or Hokkaido. It features beefy 118mm underfoot width, playful flat camber and semi-symmetrical twin tip shape. Great choice for open terrain but perfectly suitable for tight backcountry runs where agility is a must. A relatively lightweight ski for its big size thanks to the use of light paulownia wood core and carbon fiber construction. The 4x4 Design means we built it with a 4Radius sidecut + 4Radius rockers to improve maneuverability and control. The carbon fiber construction enhances responsiveness and tortional rigidity but this ski is not overly stiff. It gives you flex when landing big drops, it gives you spring when transitioning in turns and great control when skiing across crud. It delivers immediate response to your every input.

4x4 Design Concept

The 4Radius sidecut means 4 radii are used in the sidecut of the skis instead of one. You can engage the edge more effectively and hold the edge longer when needed. It enhances your ability to make short, sharp turns as well as long, big mountain turns and you can release the edge immediately when needed. The 4Radius rocker tips and tails provide 4 radii in the rocker profile instead of one. This reduces drag, maximizes top speed and enhances control in turns initiation.
